2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the opening of the 606 - Bloomingdale Trail! Originally a rail line, it ceased rail operations in the 1990's and is now a trail and parkway stretching for 2.7 miles. It serves a number of functions - including transportation corridor, park, and natural habitat. All plantings are native to the area, with some of the trees having been retained from when it was an abandoned rail line.
The trail provides a long stretch of nature in neighborhoods that are lacking in park space. Throughout the year the trail is continually changing with the seasons, providing a different experioence every day. For the last few years I have been photographing these changes at both the large and small scales. These photos are a record of the changes that happen in one particular place, but they are happening all around us at all times. I hope that by presenting these changes in a focused manner it will make viewers more aware of the changes that are occurring around them on a daily basis.
