In 1989 I started documenting the Central Artery in Boston before construction began on the "Big Dig". The project had a massive impact on downtown Boston and in recent years I've been returning to document the changes.
The importance of the project is not limited to Boston, as calls for freeway removal projects have grown in recent years.
